It started with a bundle from Fresh Modern Fabric on Etsy. This is the Quiltcon bundle with Pomegranate substituted for medium gray. Awesome shop, excellent customer service and, super fast shipping! I purchased my Tri-Recs Tool from Joanne's with a 40% off coupon, win!
A night of cutting.
A few nights of designing the layout, and this is what I've come up with.
I plan on using medium gray for the background. I'm so excited about this quilt! It is my first time using solids only. I think once it's finished I'm going to have a hard time parting with it. The auction is September 21st so I have to get crackin' on this thing.
On another note, yesterday I was able to whip up this easy peasy Moby style sling for 21 bucks! It took all of 15 minutes maybe between serging and french seaming. My lil potato loves it!
Enough typing and more sewing. I am going to attempt to link up to WIP Wednesday over at Freshly Pieced. Thanks for visiting!

Oh Melissa your submission is just gorgeous and thanks a lot for putting what ruler you used (like I don't have enough). I am going to save this post.
ReplyDeleteGreat colours for your mod triangles!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's so much easier when other people have put the colors together for you. I think I'm pretty bad at color coordinating on my own. I find it easier to work with a bundle and then tweak it if need be.
DeleteLove the colors but think you are crazy cutting that many triangles! Good luck and I can't wait to see the finished product.
ReplyDeletecheers!

Thanks! It wasn't too bad cutting the triangles really. The little ones were leftovers from the the bigger triangles I had cut first. Love what you did with your Sudoku quilt!
DeleteInterested to see where this quilt is going.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours and layout! The sling is great too!
ReplyDeleteyour quilt is gorgeous and what a great sling!
ReplyDeleteOh! I love this quilt! How lovely! (And that sling is pretty awesome too! What kind of fabric did you use? I'm all about my moby, but it's a bit plain sometimes, and I'd love to have a backup for when it gets baby goo on it! :P
ReplyDeleteThank you! For the sling I used a cotton knit from Hancock's. It's really soft and stretchy like a t-shirt. A little heavy with all that fabric but it will be great for the winter.
DeleteLove that sling, and the colors of your quilt in progress are fab!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteYour quilt is going to be beautiful! I'd have a hard time parting with it too :)
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt! I definitely wouldn't want to part with it...but that's what happens whenever I make anything!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Love those colors and I am in love with triangles right now - just laid out my triangle quilt last night!
ReplyDeleteSolids can be very addictive once you start. Your quilt looks great and so does the little one. : )
ReplyDeleteGreat colours!
ReplyDeleteYour triangle quilt looks cool. Hope you raise a lot of money! And nice job with the sling - they really are great for those little babies:)
ReplyDeleteThose colorful triangles are just beautiful! And the lil potato is cute as can be. : ) Thanks for linking up to WIP Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteLee, thank you so much for hosting such a wonderful virtual get together! It was my first time ever joining a link party and the feedback I have gotten has been great. I have been a follower and admirer of your work for a while now. Also, thanks for stopping by, makes me giddy like a celebrity visiting!
